Where Bay, River & Creek Meet

Welcome to The Beach!

We want to take this opportunity to welcome you to our community and to introduce ourselves (the Riviera Community Improvement Association aka RCIA). We are glad you have chosen the "
Beach" as your new home. Not only is the beach a great community, but it has something to offer everyone.
As a community we have the use and privilege of:

1.     A large park with playground equipment, picnic tables and benches. This park is also used by little league associations, neighborhood Frisbee games and to hold events such as family fun days.

2.     Community walkways, which allow you water access. These walkways are located at the end of every cross street by the water (see map). We encourage you to use them. With few exceptions you may walk, fish or crab along the water's edge (there are several areas where the community does not own the water front property, but these areas are in almost all cases fenced off). The docks were built by private residents that live along the community property and we encourage you to respect their property. We have enclosed a map showing community property for your reference.

3.     An unsupervised beach area. (see map).

4.     Pat's pier for fishing (see map).

5.     A boat ramp

6.     A community newsletter. This newsletter keeps you informed to activities, upcoming events and special speakers at our monthly meetings.

7.     Seasonal parties (Halloween, Christmas and Easter) for children. The kids really enjoy them.

8.     An organized Communtity Association that meets monthly (except July, August & December)

9.     A Website and Facebook page that allows residents to interact with each other, share photos, and get updates about events & happenings in the community.

Our voluntary annual dues are only $30.00 per year (Click
HERE).  The dues pay for the quarterly newsletter, holiday parties for the kids, community picnics, replacement of trees and various other expenses. It is important that we obtain dues, without them we cannot maintain the community areas and potentially our privileges could be reduced.

As a member of the Riviera Community Improvement Association (RCIA), you will be able to vote at the General  Membership Meetings on issues that concern you. RCIA meets the third Tuesday of every month (except June, July, August and December) at 7:30 pm at Jenkins Memorial Church, 133 Riviera Drive. Besides community issues, we have guest speakers (for example Constellation - our local electric plant; county and state officials, etc).

You can mail your dues to RCIA or contact the Treasurer. Addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc. are listed on the Contacts page. Don't forget to include your name, address, and telephone number.  You can also pay your dues on line HERE.

Our community association has taken an active part in the past few years on local issues that would affect the quality of life in the "Beach". We fought and won against the building of a NASCAR Race track which would of made our roads more congested and polluted our air and water. We have also fought and won to have Constellation to clean up the air with a SAFE system that wouldn't put our residences at risk. The community has also implemented improvements to our shore line through funds from the "Erosion Tax" budget and will be maintaining these improvements in the future. We are currently working towards a new playground in the Park. Fundraising efforts are underway.
